SynthMaster (Windows)

Difficulty: Easy

This is a simple setup that uses the inexpensive SynthMaster Player synth to give you access to thousands of sounds that work well with the Nova's touchpad.

1. Install SynthMaster Player:

[ Full Version ]  [ Demo Version ]

(If you already have a serial, you can download the demo and enter it to unlock the full version.)

The demo version is identical to the paid version except for the following limitations:

  - Stops working after 30 minutes

  - Fewer factory presets

3. For the lowest latency, download and install ASIO drivers. (Optional but highly recommended)

[ asio4all.org ]

4. Plug in the Nova, and then open the stand-alone SynthMaster Player that was just installed.

5. Go to "Edit" -> "I/O Setup" and select the "USB A" as the input device, and "ASIO4ALL v2" as the Output Device.

Click "OK" and you should be able to play the Nova and hear the notes played through SynthMaster Player. To fully utilize the touchpad we'll now map it up to SynthMaster's x/y pad.

6. Configure SynthMaster for the Nova with the Mosi App (download it here).

Important: Close SynthMaster Player before running the configuration.

7. Open SynthMaster and verify the configuration worked.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot hear any sound after step 5., then check the bottom bar of SynthMaster Player. The "Idle" text should change to "1 Voice" when the Nova is playing.

-> If you see it change then the Nova is connected correctly, and you should check your audio setup and volume.

-> If it does not change then check the Nova connection.
